RESOLUTION

DORR TOWNSHIP LIBRARY BOARD

At a regular meeting the Library Board of the Dorr Township Library held at the Dorr Township Library, 1804 Sunset Drive, Dorr, Michigan 49323, at 6:30pm on the 10th of February, 2014.

The following resolution was offered by Member ___________________ and seconded by Member _______________.

            WHEREAS, the Dorr Township Library (the “Library”) is a township library established under Section 10 of PA 164 of 1877, as amended (“Act 164”); and

            WHEREAS, based on a brief review, the statutory authority for per diem payments to elected township library board members for attendance at library board meetings is not clear under Act 164; and

            WHEREAS, to minimize potential concerns, the Dorr Township Library Board of the Library (the “Board”) has determined that the Library will discontinue the payment of per diem payments to Board members.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board approves the discontinuance of per diem payments to Board members, effective as of January 1, 2014, and determines that the Board shall thereafter serve without compensation.
