MEETING

Dorr Township Library

Date: November 9, 2015

6:30 P.M.

MINUTES

Meeting was called to order at 6:35pm by Peggy Otto, President.

Pledge of Allegiance: Was not said due to lack of flag.

Roll Call: Present- Tara Reece, Peggy Otto, Rachel Vote, Louis Harnish, Ken Huizinga. Absent- Barb Gibson. Natalie Bazan, Library Director, was also present. 0 visitors.

Approval of the Agenda: Vote motioned to approve the agenda, seconded by Huizinga. All yes, motion carried.

Approval of the Minutes: Motioned to approve the October 2015 Minutes by Vote, seconded by Harnish. All yes, motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Harnish motioned to receive and file the October 2015 Treasurer’s report, seconded by Vote. All yes, motion carried. Huizinga motioned, seconded by Reece, to pay the October 2015 credit card bill in the amount of $2548.49. All yes, motion carried.

Public Comment: None.

Director’s Report: Bazan provided information about library programming and events during the preceding month and upcoming events. She also provided reports on meetings attended by the Director, grant applications, building issues, and ongoing library functioning. Our circulation for October 2015 was 3661 items compared to October 2014 at 4798 items. We also were awarded $16,000 through the Arts Alive! Program.

Township Board Meeting: The next meeting is November 24, 2015. Otto will attend this meeting. Otto and Bazan attended the previous meeting and provided a three-minute update on library events and programming.

Committee Reports: The Director’s Evaluation form was solicited by Gibson from each Board member. Gibson is still compiling the data from this and will present this next month. There will also be a staff meeting on November 30, 2015.

OLD BUSINESS:

1. None.

NEW BUSINESS:

1. 2016 Officer Slate: Discussed possible slate nominations for the 2016 calendar year for the Dorr Township Library Board. The slate of nominees is as follows: Otto for President, Gibson for Vice-President, Reece for Secretary, and Huizinga for Treasurer.

2. Then and Now Addition: Bazan is exploring possible builders and architects for the addition for the Then and Now addition. Bazan will coordinate a meeting with a few architects, Township officials, and 1-2 Board members.

3. Holiday Closures: The library will be closed on the following dates: 11/26/15-11/28/15, 12/24/15-12/26/15, 12/31/15-1/2/16. We also discussed closures for the 2016 year. Closures for the 2016 year will be consistent with the Dorr Township Library Board Bylaws.

Adjournment: Vote motioned, Reece seconded to adjourn at 7:45pm. All yes.

Next regular meeting: December 14, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
